Why I don’t believe in buying pyjamas

Why I don’t believe in buying pyjamas

Weird thing to say, I know.

Let me ask you this: when was the last time you wore real pyjamas to bed? Like, classic plaid pants, nightgown, etc.?

I have to admit that some of you probably said “last night!!” But I can’t help feeling like most people just wear loungewear to bed nowadays.

As I continue my journey of slowly downsizing my wardrobe, I realized that I have a full drawer of pyjamas that I never wear. Not that I never wore them – I used to be SO INTO pyjamas. Now? I find a good flannel shirt and fleece lined leggings do the trick.

My wardrobe philosophy has evolved. I have to admit to myself that my ideals are different.

If I can wear clothes to bed, get up, brush my hair and wear the same pieces to work, it’s a win.

Of course, with washing in between (on the good days).

Realizing this so explicitly meant that I could minimize a whole section of my wardrobe. Loungewear/sleepwear are one and the same!

Versatility is your friend. It means less clothes, less waste, less spending. If that’s not a win/win, I don’t know what is!

What about you? Find that you’re all for loungewear, too? Or are you a pyjama traditionalist? Pop your answers below ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I completely agree! I canโ€™t remember the last time I picked wearing pyjamas over a cozy tshirt and leggings. Hmmm, it might be time for a clear out…
